The Tokyo area is a huge economic zone with a population of approximately 38.1 million, far exceeding the other global major metropolitan areas
such as New York and London.
The fact that a metropolitan area of such size is operated in an orderly manner without any major troubles on a day-to-day basis can be said to be a radical feature of Tokyo that is almost unheard of elsewhere in the world.
It is predicted that Tokyo will maintain this position without difficulty through 2030.
